St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Corner of the Beach, now known as Coin du Banc, in Percé, was deconsecrated earlier this month. To ensure the building and the surrounding cemetery are maintained for future generations, the Corner of the Beach Historical Society has been created. Yesterday, it held its very first meeting. Our Rachelle Solomon spoke with Shirley Boyle (née Maybe) about the group’s goals and about the history of the church, founded by the Maybe and Vibert families in 1891.
